"For an album with two minute songs and a lot of repetitveness, Mata Leao is still really great. This is much better than New World Disorder. It can't match Urban Discipline or State Of The World Address, but not much can. These guys were so ahead of their time. The big five of rapmetal: Biohazard, RATM, Faith No More, 311, and Body Count. Anyway, back to Mata Leao. This album showcases Biohazard's punk roots, as half of the songs are speedy punk numbers without solos or breaks. There are gems within, such as "Authority," "These Eyes," "Stigmatized," "Modern Democracy," "Gravity," "A Lot To Learn," "Waiting To Die," and "In Vain." "Modern Democracy" has a great groove, "Authority" has awesome lyrics, and "Gravity" has a great percussion breakdown. Evan Seinfeld and Billy Graziadei are the rappers. Their lyrics work very well, without resorting to overusing swear words or using typical idiotic rap lines. Evan is the much better vocalist of the two. His flow is smoother, while Billy resorts to screaming and has a very annoying high-pitched voice. The songs are somewhat samey, but a few spins cures the disc of repetitiveness, as the standouts jump out. There's something here for any fan of punk, hardcore, and/or metal. Support the 'Hazard!"

"I was burning "damaged" by Black Flag & wanted to add to the disc.
This is utterly absurd, but this CD works.
Cool....
My punk rock friends hate my hardcore, maybe Biohazard will open those eyes..."

"I'm an old PAHC kid now reaching my late twenties. I lost this album years ago, now struggling with the midlife thing I remembered that this was one of the best albums I have ever listened to. My office mates are listening to Lynard Skynard, but when they get up, Biohazard is the first thing I slip into the cd player. I thought I was old. So 5 big stars for Mata Leao and all the other Bio Albums. F what people say about Urban Discipline, that one ranks up there as well.

"I have been following Biohazard since 1989 before they were signed, and they have only gotten better each album. Just when you think that they can't get any heavier or better, they take the rug out from under you. Mata Leao is their best album yet!!! I'm looking forward to New World Disorder, as Billy tells me it's their heaviest yet."

"I remember I bought this with my friend the first day it came out in June 1996 and we were like holy $#%@. The groove people, rapping people, punk people, and the dark tracks people. Why on God's green earth that Mata Leao didn't get the attention. Dang that is fustrating....but hey it their lost and not ours!!! Every track on Mata Leao is a relentless pulse of Biohazard kicking and punching. This album is still awesome and will be awesome in the future, because it is true high octane 'Hazard. Cannot believe that it is no longer made. Warner Bros. records should bring it back...what they got to lose. This would sell well. Get it now!!!!"
