Synopsis
Album Description Black Cat Bone has been Southern Germany's best blues-rock group since the early 1970s. Taylormade, their fifth album, was recorded and released in Germany in 1997. This is a limited edition reissue now available in the US for the first time ever. In 1995, Black Cat Bone met former Rolling Stones member Mick Taylor at a festival in Switzerland. Taylor had always been one of Hans-Joerg Mueller's heroes, and a dream came true when he agreed to participate in the recording sessions for this album. With excellent production and crystal-clear sound, this disc is highly recommended to all lovers of intelligently performed rock and blues. |
CD ReviewsTaylormade Blues drsplash | 06/28/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "I bought this CD because Mick Taylor played with the German band Black Cat Bone. It was released in 1997, I was suprised by the members of Black Cat Bone. Mick Taylor plays on 5 of the 12 tracks, but the other 7 by Black Cat Bone were really good. "Cold Champagne" was one of these songs. Hans-Jorg Muller plays some really great guitar. I'd never heard of any of these German musicans before. "Mercy,Mercy" has some good keyboard guitar exchanges, Linus Wahls' keyboard compliments Mullers' guitar quit well. Of course all the somgs Mick Taylor plays on show what a real tallent he is, "Wake Up Call" is the only song he plays the solo lead guitar, the rythum section of Stephan Wegner on bass and Uli Wagner drums keep everything very tight with a solid beat. Muller keeps up with Taylor on "Blind Willie McTell". Over all I'd say "Taylormade" is one of those hidden gems, you wouldn't think the supporting band would fit so well with Taylor but "suprise"....this album is worth the listen."
