"Black Moth Super Rainbow combines vintage synths and sampled hip-hop beats to arrive at a unique sound.. That VC-10 (or VP-330) gets a workout. This tripped out music could've been made by giant, black moths from outer space.
Trippy.

"BMSR's second full length album sees the group coming into its sound- vocally. On their first album (Falling Through a Field) most of the vocals were whispered and distant, like they were revealing secrets they only wanted you to know. On Start a People the vocoder really comes into play and the lyrics become even more abstract and the vocals are used more as an instrument- much to our pleasure. With songs like I am the Alphabet and Raspberry Dawn, its clear to see that even though BMSR remains abstract- they have pop sensibilities bubbling beneath the surface. I hope this band keeps doing their thing because nobody else is doing it like them."
