Synopsis

Album Description
In 2003 Black Panther put out his debut album on Third Earth Music, "The Darkest Night Ever". All 17 tracks received nothing but positive feedback and publicity from his fans and critics. From the hottest MC's working over Panthers always original and consistent beats, it showcased a talent that has yet to be discovered. 2007, after getting back behind the turntables this past year at clubs and making a name for himself amongst the underground hip hop world of the city streets of New York, Panther is back with the new album, "My Eternal Winter". This one will prove to be not just a follow up album, but a step above what we have already heard from him. Once again plan to be blown away by raw and explosive lyrics from some of the best known and unknown MC's out there and beats that cannot be ignored. Expect nothing less.

CD Reviews

Mediocre return of Black Panther

(3 out of 5 stars)

"First of all, I bought this album off the strength of his debut "The Darkest Night Ever!!!" I was a bit disappointed with this sophmore LP, it lacks the gritty feel and raw samples that made his first a classic. Basically, the beats are a major step down and I expect a lot more from him than this, they have a more electronic feel to them, maybe he switched from using an SP to using Fruity Loops? Either that or maybe he was just trying to appeal more to the commercial market. The lyricism featured by the various emcees and female vocalists is on point, but again the beats just don't hold up. Although it does have it's moments: "All Falls Down" echoes the style of his first LP, "Your Mine" featuring the highly skilled Shabam Sadeeq and that killer sample, ultimately a mediocre album at best."
