Full Of Hope

"This album shows another side of Blind Willie Johnson.
He uses his typical gravelly voice, slide guitar, syncopated rhythms and melodic phrasings...to share his hope and his faith.
This is a profound reflection on a man who was very poor, blind and black and lived through the depression era.
It's not exactly clean cut gospel music...but this is as genuine as it gets.
Also highly recommended
- "Dark Was The Night" which is one of the few pieces of music that tries to capture the torment of Jesus in the garden of Gethsamane.
- "God Moves On Water" expressing the oneupmanship sentiment on the sinking of the Titanic since some even boasted "God himself could not sink this ship"...and the contemporary debate that science and technology would provide the solutions to all problems."
