Terrific budget compilation of BS&T

(4 out of 5 stars)
"I had a few of Blood, Sweat & Tears' albums when they were originally released in the late 1960s and 1970s but had not upgraded to CD until I recently came across this budget compilation from Sony. This is a wonderful collection that includes, arguably, the five best tracks from the band's second and biggest selling album, the classic "Blood, Sweat & Tears." But what really sweetens this collection is the inclusion of three tracks from the band's debut album (with Al Kooper), "Child is Father to the Man," including a personal favorite, "I Can't Quit Her." The compilation is rounded out with two latter album cuts, including a cover version of James Taylor's "Fire & Rain."
The only reason that I give this four stars rather than five is the fact that only 10 songs are included but, if you're looking for an inexpensive collection of many of the band's greatest hits, this collection will do just fine."
