Amazon.comThis installment of Fuel 2000's Blue on Blues series pairs the founding father of Texas blues with one of the genre's greatest experimenters. Although one could postulate a stronger link, in the sense that Lowell Fulson did spend a few years knocking around Texas early in his career, and there are similarities between his style and that of T-Bone Walker, it's best to enjoy each artist on his own merits, rather than wonder why the label put them together. Six tracks from Walker, including the lively "Louisiana Bayou Drive" and the pleading "Please Come Back to Me," are followed by six from Fulson. Six songs are hardly enough to give an idea of each musician's breadth, especially Fulson's, but as with other installments of Blue on Blues, this is a decent introduction for the uninitiated, at a very attractive price. --Genevieve Williams
