Blue Floyd is a conglomeration of former/current members of the Allman Brothers, Gov't Mule and The Black Crowes performing Blues interpretations of Pink Floyd songs and, while the concept may sound strange, in reality the mix goes down just right. The band have been in existence for around 10 years and during that time have built up a large and enthusiastic fan base for the bands unique blend of styles. Whilst the band have an almost fluid line up with members coming and going, the concept remains a steady one and also one that is proving extremely popular in the live arena. This concert recording took place in January 2000 and features the line up of Allen Woody (guitar, bass and vocals), Matt Abts (drums), Marc Ford (guitar and vocals), Johnny Neel (keyboards, harmonica and vocals) and Berry Oakley (bass, percussion and vocals). A Special Treat for Floyd Fans

"Originally sold via the "Blue Floyd" website this 3 CD set is one show in a series released by the band led by now deceased Gov't Mule member Alan Woody. The treatment of these Floyd tunes performed live is not typical Jam Band fare, this bluesy sounding acid trip is a very solid effort to bring life to old classics. If there is one thing that comes through on this collection is the band's love for Pink Floyd, it is you the listener that benefits from this love.

Previously very difficult to find and rarely sold on auctions sites this import should be part of the Floyd fan collection. There were about five shows released back in 2000 from different cities, each with 2-3 CDs containing the full show including encores. Many songs were duplicated from show to show, yet each version is it's own variation and in some cases guest artists sat in to jam.

Hopefully the others shows will get released, it's been too long that these performances were hidden away."
