The 1994 March of Jazz was the first in what has become one of the foremost annual jazz events, combining the best elements of the festival and party genres, and it was the first in a series of birthday tributes to senior jazz greats. There could hardly have been a better choice than Bob Haggart and this 2-CD set of musical highlights celebrates the 80th birthday of the legendary bassist, arranger, and composer. Celebrating with Bob were a hand picked group of his musical friends and associates over the years including such first magnitude stars as Yank Lawson, Ruby Braff, Flip Phillips, Dick Hyman, Ralph Sutton, Milt Hinton and George Van Eps, who were joined by eighteen other all stars.
