"We bought this CD and played it at our wedding, and it satisfied our guests. We wanted the Chicken Dance, and we got it. The CD gets 3 stars--instead of only 2--because it delivers on that simple promise.
But the organ music was too subdued for this song. It's like Herbie Hancock on Prozac, or a whimsical church organist drinking coffee. The Chicken Dance is better performed by a hyped-up polka band, so this version may disappoint. Also, this CD has both an instrumental and vocal version of the Chicken Dance. The vocal version is disorienting and unnecessary. If you must listen to the vocal version, do so in private; do not subject dancers to it."

"I have seen and performed the chicken dance at two weddings and had a great time. I was specifically looking for this song and was delighted to find it and only it. The music is great. Now all I need are the instructions on how to do it for a party."
Chicken Dance Causes Riot at Chicken Dinner Festival

"As a member of a church's chicken dinner festival committee, I thought the patrons and workers alike (all volunteers)would enjoy hearing the Chicken Dance as they were eating/working. I didn't have a copy of this caliber yet, but even the one we had was a hit! I can hardly wait to play this single CD next year, with its alternating vocal and instrumental versions. At one time during the festivities in the dining room, our priest, music director, kids who helped clear and reset tables, and the folks who manned the serving line all danced. What fun!"

"...at the wedding of John Gastil, a previous reviewer. Having spun heavy funk and disco for an hour, I played this strictly as a request from the wedding party, never having heard it before myself. I was completely taken aback--dismayed to some extent, but the people seemed to _love_ it. So, although this would _never_ end up in my own collection, having spun it at a dance, I have to admit it got the crowd moving!"
