Album DescriptionWelcome to the energetic and eclectic world of Africanism. Defected Records brings you the highly anticipated double-CD ? the second edition from the talented collaboration of pioneering French artists. The first Africanism project introduced the bass heavy, Afro, West Indian and Latin percussive sound pioneered by the famous Bob Sinclar. The latest project pushes the idea further and upon first listen you will recognize the signature rhythms which are even more seductive than its predecessor. The Africanism project is a collection of the finest producers and DJs who fuse together a mixture of international Afro-inspired rhythms, world drum patterns and contemporary electro beats. This new tribe, better known as the Africanism All Stars, includes the globally respected Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig, DJ Gregory, Julien Jabre (a.k.a. Soha), Gwen, Lego, Q-Tee Fingers and Liquid People. The first CD ? mixed by Bob Sinclar, the noted French house music Svengali and head of independent label Yellow Productions ? is simply powerful, energetic and rich. Bob Sinclar, born Chris Le Friant, began DJing in 1987 while still a teenager. In 1993, he formed Yellow with Alain Ho. Later, he adopted the name Bob Sinclar from a French spy movie, and has since brought us the massive club hits "Gym Tonic" and "I Feel for you." Martin Solveig, regarded as one of the most talented up-and-coming French producers, displays his skills on disc 2. He was spotted by Bob Sinclar and invited to be part of the Africanism project. With his strong love for music, the young and gifted producer has created such hits as "Ebony," and "Heart of Africa." To Martin, music is life, and he shows you just that in this CD. Africanism II is a journey across Africa, South America and the West Indies with sounds and beats that reflect a fantastic fusion of cultures brought together by Bob and his collaborators ? what more could you ask for?
