Album Description

2007 two-fer from the legendary multi-talented entertainer featuring a double dose of Bobby Darin on one shiny disc. Commitment (1969) is the second of his two protest albums recorded for his own Direction label and the only album released under the name Bob Darin. The second 'album' on this CD rounds up the non-album single sides and two songs from the Commitment sessions plus four songs recorded live at the Troubadour in L.A. in '69. Edsel.

"Near the end of his life, Darin went through a folk phase -- ditching the rug, growing a mustache, smoking and writing folk songs in a trailer in Big Sur. Two unique albums came out of this, COMMITMENT and BORN WALDEN ROBERT CASSOTO. They are about the only time Darin let his entertainer guard down and let you see inside, and that makes them special. It's not great music, but it's warm and real and personal. It is great to hear these albums on CD at long last."
