Tasty hard-bop set from the venerated venue

"Recorded a year before San Francisco's legendary club Keystone Korner (which was open for 11 years) closed, this live set features tenor-saxophonist Harold Land with vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson, trumpeter Oscar Brashear, pianist Cedar Walton, bassist Buster Williams and drummer Billy Higgins completing the sextet. The music is hard bop-oriented and of consistent high quality. The Evidence CD reissue adds a lengthy version of Harold Land's "Mapenzi" to the original five-song program, all of which are originals by the musicians. No filler, just sweet melodies and spicy solos."
