"I spent a week in Austin, TX last summer, and I became "hooked" on the Tejano music that was playing everywhere on my car radio. After returning home to Ithaca, NY I could not find any Tejano CDs, nor anyone familiar with the genre. So, using the Web, I went to work, soon discovering Bobby Pulido in the 1997 Tejano Music Awards. I ordered "Llegaste a mi Vida" blind, not knowing what I would be getting.I was not disappointed. What a treat! It is the essence of the popular Tejano genre. Highly danceable, the first band. Le Pedire, gets you up and going. All 12 bands are eminently listenable. Several of the songs originated in English and have been translated into Spanish. While that is Pulido's prerogative, I would have appreciated it had he retained the English and added the Tejano interpretation. Doing so would make his music more broadly appealing to the North American audience."Llegaste" is great for Tejano music lovers, and I recommed it highly."
