"As impressive as Bobby Watson's playing is, going back to Art Blakey and the Jazz Messangers, this is my favorite of his albums. This is a solo saxophone work; no accompaniment at all. Bobby masterfully improvises through several standards (Donna Lee, Giant Steps) without ever losing touch with those famous melodies. He also has some comical tracks, such as "Hoedown" which sounds very much like the title suggests. His soulful playing on the title track will leave you admiring Bobby's ability to manipulate melody and silence."
