Synopsis

Album Description
Send One Your Love, a 10-track album of seductive love songs from sax icon Boney James, is the ultimate "musical valentine." It includes new James originals as well as covers from Stevie Wonder, Barry White, the Stylistics and more. This sensuous collection includes nine instrumental tracks plus a stunning cover of James Taylor's "Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight". On this track, Boney introduces the world to the incredible new R&B vocalist Quinn. Having previously done background vocals for the likes of Kelly Price and K-Ci & JoJo, Quinn was working as an Atlanta-based session singer. "I started asking friends if they knew a young singer who should be a star," Boney says. "I got Quinn's MP3 in an e-mail. The next day I flew him to L.A. and cut the track in two takes!"

"Boney's latest album, "Send one your love" is the consummate title for a record filled with benevolent ballads of jazz that will perk up one's heart and put them in the mood for love.

Ten tracks - nine of them are instrumental - from the accomplished Smooth Jazz sax man include some new tunes plus covers from Stevie Wonder, Barry White, John Klemmer, James Taylor and the Stylistics.

James Taylor's "Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight" is the only one track with vocals, provided by Quinn. The song then blends in Boney's indisputable saxophone work along with this young talented vocalist from Atlanta.

BUT, there are other songs on it. And it's just the new, original material is where the talent of Boney James shines throughout: "City Of Light", dedicated to Paris, featuring Steffon Harris on vibraphone and Dean Parks on guitar, sparkles with a Parisian charm.

"Butter" has James echoing the genius of Grover Washington, jr. while "Wanna Show U Sumthin" shows a laid-back, sparce sound and excellent vocal support by Sue Ann Carwell.

The icing on the cake and my favourites are his grooving take of The Stylistics' "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)" and the seductive "Hold On Tight".

Okay, admittedly it's nothing groundbreaking here, but who says that every album by an artist has to be completely revolutionary?

To sum up, "Send one your love" is the perfect album to turn on when you want to get just the right affectionate response.

The album debuts at # 1 of the Billboard Top Contemporay Jazz Albums. Issue date 2009-02-21"

"I have listened to Boney James' latest a couple of times and yes, it is so smooth. The cover tunes of classics such as Stop Look Listen (originally by the Stylistics) or I'll Be Good to You (by the Brothers Johnson) were well done. I read that Boney wanted the CD to be about love and he sure achieved his objective. The original new tunes, in particular Butter, is the definition of what smooth jazz has meant to me in terms of listening since I started listening to it back in the late 70's-early 80s. Simply smooth. The man (who I will see in Vegas in April) definitely has his finger on the pulse of smooth/R&B-flavored jazz. Job well done Mr. Oppenheimer."

"Send One Your Love-is one of Boney James best cd's. Each track just flows, put this in anytime and just enjoy. There is the one track with vocals and it's ok. I just love to hear the music and Boney James brings it on this cd. If you are a fan of smooth jazz I would recommend buying this one for your collection. This is smooth jazz at it's finest."
