Where the streets have no name

"Just as the new album "Lushlife", I had anxiously awaited this CD-Single, but I was a little bit disappointed by both BE's new releases. The title track mixes noisy, atmospheric guitar lines (similar to My Bloody Valentine and other early-'90s noise rock bands) with bass-heavy trip-hop beats (reminiscent of Massive Attack and Portishead) and seductive female vocals. "Soul city" is also available on BE's new album, and in my opinion, this is one of the best and most melodic tracks there. However, the two remixes of "Freedom fighter" are just slightly different to the original version. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything magic, innovative, and memorable in BE's new sound. It's not mainstream pop, but I feel there's something missing here. After a few listenings I've lost my interest in both "Lushlife" and this release."
