BRAVO! Queer Eye Should Take Pride In This Class Act CD

(5 out of 5 stars)

"When I heard that there would be a soundtrack from "Queer Eye For the Straight Guy", I expected a CD full of club anthems that many associate with "gay" music. However, this CD surpassed all my expectations. The thought and care that went into producing this project really shine through (from the classy photo on the cover). I am most impressed with how the CD appeals to not only gay and lesbian audiences. It really has a well-rounded list of songs that any person could enjoy. Simply put, the CD is a soundtrack to our lives (regardless of if you're gay or not). This Limited Edition CD features the bonus DVD with the ultra-sensual and avante-garde video from Kylie's "Slow". Many songs feature state-of-the-art remixers and producers. "All Things" spearheads the CD as the lead single and the song and video is fabulous. Every track is stellar. I also love "Superstar" from Jamelia who I did not know about until now. The song is really radio-friendly and Jamelia sounds amazing. There are some rare remixes (e.g., Kylie, Duran Duran, & Sting) on this disc that is worth getting the CD alone. The CD really is uplifting and diverse enough (e.g., Liz Phair & Elton) to not be easily dated in a year or two. All in all, Queer Eye has a lot to be proud of, and this CD is one of them. Now let's hope that things really do just keep getting better by going out and DOING something when it counts...NOW...VOTE!"
A fabulous album filled with great music

"This is a great colleciton of music for both fans of the TV show and for music lovers. It contains some great dance mixes including the theme song "All Things (Just Keep Getting Better)" by Widelife with Simone Denny, "You Promised Me" by InGrid, "Move Your Feet" by Junior Senior, "Good Luck" by Basement Jaxx featuring Lisa Kekaula, and a great song titled "Everybody Want You To Emerge" by Fischerspooner vs. Billy Squier. And, there's more than just dance mixes. They've included "Extraordinary" by Liz Phair, "Superstar" by Jamelia (pop/R&B), Sting, OK Go, Kylie Minogue, Prophet Omega, Elton John, and a new song from the original line up of Duran Duran. The DVD that comes with the limited edition is equally good with a mini-making of for the video to "All Things (Just Keep Getting Better)," the video for Kylie Minogue's "Slow" and a dance video remix of Sting's "Send Your Love."A great music collection for everyone!!"

"I too was expecting stereotypical gay music, head pounding techno and what not. What I found was the opposite, and very good! The remixes are wonderful, and Elton John adds a touch that Ted Allen could be proud of. I am very happy with this purchase!"
