CD Reviews
Nasty, Funky , Soul-Drenched Music !

"I can't believe this band wasn't bigger and better known than they were. They had fantastic musicianship, great vocals and some positive messages in the music. Check out the bass playing (even on the slow tunes)-I don't know who it was, but he was a bad mutha! If you like your funk with a little jazz and some soulful vocals don't hesitate to buy this. You won't be disappointed!"
One of the Best All time R & B CD's Ever, Period!

"If I need one thousand words to describe something as beautiful as this cd then, it can't be done! I'll be brief, "Just listen with an open heart and an open mind!" Brainstrom will do the rest! The music is fantastic and the vocals are truly excellent! Give yourself a wonderful journey!Take Care, Enjoy & Peace!"
A true soul gem. I introduce to all that I can..

"This album was not a big seller when it was released. I understand that it was because it was lacking in the dance tracks that was popular in the 1977/78 period it was introduced to.
That's no reason not to check it out now.
For fans of polished and well orchestrated soul records in the style and (trust me) the caliber of Earth Wind and Fire at their peak, this is your album.
Brainstorm were, intentionally, in the making of this album shooting for the EW&F crown and it shows...every song is polished, full and elaborate.
The lead singer Berlita Woods sounds a lot like Mary J. Blige (or vice versa), the bass player is Deon Estus and the backing band is extra tight and soulful. The song writing is second to none.
I would LOVE to hear Mary J remake "If you ever need to smile" the same way she rocked "I'm going down".
Scoop it up fa sho!"
Delighted but Confused

"This wasn't a bad album at all. Neither was "Funky Entertainment." But here's what confuses me: how is it that EVERY BrainStorm album ever created is now available on CD--except for the very best one? Um... "Stormin'", anyone? Sheesh! That was probably the most listenable BrainStorm album from start to finish! Seeing as how I stepped into the 21st Century years ago, and no longer own a working turntable, I really don't feel like buying a $68 vinyl copy of "Stormin'." Anyone know if this'll be out on CD in our lifetime...?
Oh, BTW, did I mention that "Journey to the Light" wasn't a bad album? ;-)"
A gem

"I first bought this record almost 20 years ago when browsing in a record store in london.my copy has worn out from playing and to my consternation, was lost when i moved back to nigeria.I have been looking for it for about 8 years and even prepared to pay about a 100$ or more for any copy- that is how magical i think it is.my day was made when i discovered it was back in print.
Back to the record it self- what a brilliant record!
All the tracks are just fantastic.the fast tracks really just heavy,if you like your bass that way and the ballads are just heavenly.
I wish some would play this record to the so called stars of today -the hip hop and rap stars. this is how to craft songs.
thank you to virgin and whoever decided to release this gem of music."
