Album DescriptionReleased in 1990, the "Brand New Heavies" LP was the springboard to world-wide success for this Ealing band. Featuring such classics as 'Dream Come True' and 'Stay This Way' (both Top 40 hits for the band in 1992) it is an early classic of UK street soul. For the first time, we are making the album available with all of the tracks that were recorded at the sessions. This includes the original version of 'Never Stop' and three additional songs written by Jan Kincaid that didn't make the album's original vinyl release. To complete the CD we have also included the original recording of 'Dream Come True' recorded for Chrysalis in 1988, with Incognito hit maker Linda Muriel on vocals, and the Top 40 hit version of 'Never Stop' featuring N'Dea Davenport that was scheduled to be released as Acid Jazz Jazid 39T, but was transferred instead to London Records. The package includes in-depth sleeve notes that feature interviews with original band members Simon Bartholomew and Jim Wellman and with Acid Jazz label owner Ed Piller. The Brand New Heavies will be touring this summer (2007), playing all over Europe supporting their album from last year, "Get Used To It", which has sold 40,000 copies in the US to date.
