"Brent Mason is one of the best guitar players in the world! But, as his wife, I am extremely prejudiced! Since Hot Wired's release Brent has been so busy simply working that another CD has been out of the question, but due to constant pressure from the music industry and fans alike, Brent should be in the studio recording a NEW album of originals that should be released by mid-2004. The tounge-in-cheek title "Don't Try This at Home" will definitely include more of his hot chickin'pickin' than Hot-Wired to keep listeners happy, but since Brent's true love is soulful jazz, expect to find that included as well."
GUITARIST'S GUITARIST PLAYS MORE THAN COUNTRY!

"BRENT MASON SHOWS WHY HE IS THE MOST IN DEMAND PLAYER IN NASHVILLE. WHAT MIGHT SURPRISE A LOT OF PLAYERS IS HIS COMMAND OF THE JAZZ IDIOM AS HE TIPS HIS HAT TO GEORGE BENSON AND WES. THIS GUY'S BLEND OF TECHNIQUE AND TASTE IS AMAZING. THIS CD IS A PLAYER'S SHOWCASE SO IF YOU'RE INTO POP COUNTRY LIKE BROOKS AND DUNN OR SHANIA TWAIN IT PROBABLY ISN'T FOR YOU. BUT IF YOU APPRECIATE VIRTUOSITY ALONG THE LINES OF JIMMY BRYANT,CHET ATKINS,LES PAUL, DANNY GATTON, ALBERT LEE, ARLEN ROTH, THE HELLECASTERS,JIM CAMPILONGO ETC.ETC. THEN THIS IS A MUST OWN EFFORT."
Some cuts burn, others simmer

"I found this CD in a second-hand store a couple of years ago and was surprised at how good it was. The rock and country stuff blazes and clearly shows why Brent Mason is considered to be one of the premier guitarists working today. He seems quite at home in a variety of styles and doesn't seem to suffer from the "every song sounds the same" syndrome that I've found in other guitar players' solo albums. The only criticism I have of this CD (and don't let this keep you from buying it) is the inclusion of several "light" jazz pieces (think Kenny G) that I inevitably skip over. Even these cuts are not bad at all. I just don't care for that style."

"nice broad spectrum of guitfiddle here. Nobody outplays Brent on the Country selections-yet its nice to see him branch out a little bit. Would love to hear him play a straight out blues and he can rock out! I would get another disc by Brent anytime."
