Album DescriptionBob Hall was asked by the Notodden Blues Festival to put together an All Star review as part of their tribute to British Blues and so the British Blues All Stars were born. The band was chosen so that as far as possible, every member was a seminal figure in the history of British Blues. The players came from the ranks of Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated, Savoy Brown, Manfred Mann, Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and the Blues Band - one can hardly do better than that. Lead vocals are shared between Kim Simmonds, Tom McGuinness, Peter Green, Long John Baldry and Bob Hall. After the successful performance at the Notodden Blues Festival, word got around and the British Blues All Stars became a reality. The line-up constantly changes due to the busy schedules of the musicians but never lacks for outstanding star guests to maintain the standard of the original band heard on this excellent release. Sadly Long John Baldry died shortly after making this recording and it is hoped that this album will serve as a fitting tribute to his engaging personality and superb showmanship.
