this album is nuts. i rode to this for a long while the other day, and quite a bit today. lynch's spits set [i think] the mood for the direction the album heads the entire way. starting the story at the ending and coming full circle. some of these beats are fulla dread. out and about today, the ones that crawled under my skin were split personality, dont worry mama it's just bl**din, nu*tba*g, anotha k*llin (feat snoop and kurupt and daz), sit in that corner b*tch, colostomy bag, d.o.a. those beats set the mood well for the tracks. let it soak in. lynch shows a whole lotta control and paints some crazy visuals.
i can marinate to dont worry mama it's just bl**din all day on repeat. i havent been able to marinate like that since that's what I said and before that death dance and before that refuse 2 loze. it has a perfect blend and balance of lynch's fire and control with kaliko spitting intensity and tech taking it home. c-lim brought just a touch of humor, and behind the track flows a chorus that rifts forever on repeat.
season of da sicc 2? loaded part deux? i dont think so at all. this sounds like nothing ive heard before because this has never been done before. an album trilogy in the form of a horror movie. the idea is that, during the day lynch is a regular dude, and at night he turns into the coathangastrangla and he spends those nights eating rappers. he said in an interview that though on the album he's eating people, it's actually rappers he's eating up.
conceptually
the concept is strictly brilliant. a horror done in the form of three albums. several videos for each bringing the coathangastranlga to life. (videos of the cinematographic quality of eminem's 3 a.m.)
with the trilogy, he wants to bring to life a new urban legend. the next freddy or lecter. but this one doesnt go after kids; this one just eats rappers haha
i finally caught the full scope of the storyline with that sit in the corner track and the c-lim skit and and d.e.'s violin rant at the end and all of it has me loaded!
for anyone who has not yet heard it, the album is insane. almost eighty minutes of lynch, every track goes hard. if you need proof, most of the tracks are on youtube by now. seek these:
-nu*t ba*g
-split personality
-i hate when n**az be on the phone around me (haha man, some of the tiles of the tracks on this album just kill me
-dont worry mama it's just bl**din
-i plotted my next m*rd*r
-i tried to commit su*c*de
-sit in that corner b**ch
-anotha k*llin (with snoop)
-meat
-doa
-siccem
well.. any of the tracks, really some of them are lynch's best spits. he goes off.
really, there isnt a track on this album that isnt something special. i was getting put off by the years of mixtapes, but this album shows that lynch is certainly in the above status. upper tier. more like one of a kind.
and last year's grammy for rap album of the year award went to an album loaded with addiction, abduction, incest, molestation, torture, rape and serial murdering. if something like that can happen--can beat out jay-z and all other albums for the year--then lynch may even get a grammy nod this year. and i know a lot of cats hate on that, they scream things about the grammys, epmd always went gold with no radio play and they never got a grammy, but they helped lead the way for rap and grabbing grammys gets attention for your city and those of whom you work with.
ive been hitting this joint all day for a few days now and i still dont have a fav. seventy-seven minutes of lynch is hard to come by anymore, the album is raw and the spits hit. definitely nab it.

"Ive been a B.L.H. listener for a while now,and even though i deffinetly like his older cds this is his best to date in my opinion. The influence of Strange music is there but doesnt take over lynchs sound allowing him to keep that old school feel any lynch fan can appreciate. This is a for sure buy, dont even doubt it, jus get it.Even if you have never heard of him and are jus lookin for some sicc made horrorcore rap,or if your a follower of Strange music or all of the above.Only thing that could make Strange music any sicker is if they got Doomsday Productions on the label"

"I've been listening 2 Brotha Lynch since 1997 and I hadnt been pleased with any of his albums as a whole since 2001 when him and C-Bo made Blocc Movement 2gether. So I picked up Dinner And A Movie thinkin there should be at least a handful tracks i like, damn was I wrong this is whole cd is dope, I never like whole albums but Lynch has made one of the most complete albums i've ever heard, i've been listenin to rap since 1994 and this is already in my top 5 of all time after only havin it for 2 weeks or so. In the day and age where rappers lack originality and depth lynch has definitely stayed true to the game and he remains original and i love him for it he's definitely one of the best that rap has to offer and its a shame that most rap fans will never even know who he is.
my top 5 tracks
1. #3 D.O.A
2. #9 I Tried To Committ Suicide
3. #16 Nutbagg
4. #11 Meat
5. #20 Anotha Killin F/ Snoop Daz and Kurupt
This is what real hip-hop is supposed to be about he makes himself stand-out and hes different than most rappers, in 16 years i've never heard an album like this that just flows and fits together every song serves a purpose and goes with one another this album is like a movie please dont download it buy it, Brotha Lynch deserves to get paid, thank you Brotha Lynch this cd was definitely worth my $15 cant wait for the next one dog."

"A well planned out album, I like the movie feel of the cd, lynch has always been a beast with the spit, his talent has been overshadowed by his content, but as far for the album I think its a masterpiece and a must buy. There only a few artist I will support without listening to one track, Ice Cube, Scarface, Tech N9ne and Brotha lynch. Old head for life."
