Brother Down, hailing from Santa Cruz, CA is an ensemble of eclectic artisians who together form an acoustic-based band whose musical influences are many. Their freshman CD, To the Black Land, is a tribute to the many flavors of life they have tasted over the past decade. From the Psalmists despairing struggle in the miry clay to his triumphant exulting in the Rock upon which he now stands, Brother Down's lyrics span the spectrum of the colorful Christian experience. With a musical style (incorporating string quartet, doublebass and percussion with acoustic guitars and rich vocal harmonies) that appeals to a broad range of listeners coupled with lyrics that touch the heart as well as challenge the mind, these intellectual surfers are poised to make some waves in the music world.
