"This white gospel group's personnel underwent several permutations. Sessions 1 & 2 included Alton & Rabon Delmore, Grandpa Jones and Merle Travis. Session 3 Red Foley replaced Merle Travis. Session 4 Red Turner replaces Red Foley. Session 5 is the Delmore brothers with Grandpa Jones. Session 6 Clyde Moody replaces Grandpa Jones. The final session includes the Delmore brothers, Grandpa Jones and Red Turner. Despite the variation the group has a consistent sound - a shaped note influenced sense of harmony applied to the classic black gospel repetoire.The most memorable cuts are the two renditions of "On the Jericho Road" - both are exquisite. In general, the material is so consistent that personal favorites will be based on your favorite gospel pieces - Will the circle be unbroken, Just a little talk with Jesus, Rockin' on the waves, If we never meet again, Over in the glory land, I'll meet you in the morning, Jesus hold my hand ..."
