CD ReviewsGreat Example of Austin Music Michael J. Mclatcher | Austin, Texas | 01/17/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Owning all three of Bruce's major releases, I can honestly say that his first album is by far his best. His ability to write songs that connect with the listener is perhaps is best talent. This album is a perfect example of a great Austin songwriter at his best." This CD is just the beginning! Nicole | Minneapolis, MN | 10/27/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "I bought this CD on a whim at a local record store and quickly fell under its spell. From the first time I heard the songs "Angry all the time," and "Travellin' Soldier" I knew I was listening to a master songwriter. I've since bought copies of all of his CD's and I continue to be impressed. This CD can be hard to find so what are you waiting for? Snatch it up!" Where it all began! DanD | 10/19/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is where it all began - a great songwriter's first CD displaying some early songs that have since become big hits - McGraw w/Angry all the Time - the Chicks w/Travellin' Soldier. Full of feeling and beautiful pictures. I find myself listening over and over again. His voice gets to you and Kelly Willis' occasional harmonies are lovely. His stories + images truly touch your heart. And I'm just a regular guy - none too sensitive...none too tough. His brother Charlie also tells a heck of a story and is a great showman. Bruce's insides shines through. Great things here and more great things to come...i.e. (the song 'valentine' on Country Sunshine could be one of the most beautiful songs ever written.) And i've seen him live and he can kick it up."
