"Not all of us have a chance to wander into the Old Absinthe Bar on a steamy, sultry New Orleans night. Ten years ago, when this blind-as-a-bat old white-guy groped his way up to the stage and picked up his axe, I nearly left.The house-lights go down, the white cane gets tossed behind the amps somewhere, there is a longish, slightly uncomfortable pause ... then, a commanding voice shouts "Well All-RIGHT", and a spine-tingling, floor-shaking, full-tilt wall of pure, raw, funky, soul-filled energy bulldozes the room. Bryan signed it for me after the show. I still treasure it: it is an delicious portal back into an unforgettable evening in an unforgettable place.Now, this incredible music is on CD. This is the blues the way you always wanted it to be, cooked up by a master. If you like Dr. John, if you like your blues raw, if you like your sax hot, if that second-line rhythm grabs you and won't let go -- then you will LOVE this CD. Play it LOUD, on a hot night, with cold Bud in a long-necked bottle. This is gritty, raunchy, funky, raw, southern, hot R&B with a heavy emphasis on the "B". "Before marriage, before kids, my husband and I went to New Orleans on vacation. One of our most fond memories is sitting in on a Bryan Lee set. The material is original, and it delivers! If the kids are screaming, and the day at work has been tough .... a cold beverage and Bryan Lee can set everything right. I think that you'll enjoy this even if you haven't seen him in person. It's an excellent CD. Take a chance, and buy it. You may decide to spend your next vacation in New Orleans. :-)"
