Quality Ska

"It's a known fact that ska has seen better days. Some even go as far as to say that ska is indeed dead. This album really disproves that statement. Buck-O-Nine has never gotten as big as other 90's "ska" bands such as No Doubt, Sublime, and the like. But then again, Buck-O-Nine has earned their title of being one of the few 90's ska / skacore bands that are still around today.
With that being said, this album is, I dare say, one of THE best ska albums to come out in a long, long time. Whether you even consider these guys straight ska or lump them into a smaller sub category, it does not matter. This cd will no doubt make you get up and skank around your room, your house, your cubicle, and will for sure stay in your cd player for a long, long time.
Usually you would point out strong songs on an album, but the fact is that almost every single song on this disc is a shoe-stomping good time. This is Buck-O-Nines strongest album, by far. Obviously some fans will disagree, but this album is so great on so many levels, it's just not even funny.
I think it's worth it to point out that the bass lines in some songs, notably "Lie to Me," "Less than Comfortable," and "Sailing Away." are killer and really, really bring the songs together. The horns are also some of the catchiest horn lines (or whatever you would call them) that Buck-O-Nine have done in a really long time.
Final verdict? This is a must buy for fans of the ska genre, or if you just want a real nice listen, then definately get it. For a better buy, go to asianmanrecords(dot)com, Buck-O-Nines label, and get it from the store there."

"Jaw Dropping, Toe Tapping, Foot Stomping, Glory you have to sing along to! The most punk Buck O Nine yet somehow the most ska Buck O Nine, how they pulled it off I,ll never know. Slight shift in tone from the previous albums but a shift that gives them a more mature feel. Out long wait and their hard work was worth it to have such a flawless album."
If you like ska and punk you NEED this album!!!

"I feel like I've progressed with Buck-O-Nine over the years. I was a huge fan of Buck-O-Nine's "Twenty-Eight Teeth" back in the day. It was a real upbeat and uplifting cd to listen to as a skater during my teenage years (and I still love it!). "Sustain" has more, I guess you could say, darker songs but it just seems like their sound and lyrics have aged up about 10 years, as have I, so it speaks to me now in my late 20's just like "Twenty Eight Teeth" did in my late teens. These guys are keeping it real, unlike a lot of good ska and punk bands that sold out (soundwise, not worried about record labels) and started playing pop or indie music. I hope these guys keep making good music for many more years to come...and more frequently too!
I'd say this is the best ska/punk album to come out in years!"
