Take a spicy Cajun tour through Louisiana's bayou country on Choo Choo Boogaloo! The musical scenery includes foot-stompin', two-steppin,' finger poppin' zydeco emblazoned with hot guitar licks, sassy accordion, and a dash... more » of blues thrown in for good measure. Traditional titles, including "Get on Board," "Iko Iko," "Little Red Caboose," and "Cotton Fields," have been well adapted to zydeco style, while "Crawfish Song," "Mardi Gras Mambo," and "Give Me a Squeeze, Please" are right at home in this celebration of Cajun culture. Children will have a wonderful time moving with the new rhythms and exploring the sounds of various instruments used to create the unique zydeco style. --Deborah Moore« less

Great music for little ones and big people too! Not at all "dumbed-down", real Cajun music.
CD Reviews
Wonderful get-up-&-move music for children and parents too!

"After debating between several CD's, I was swayed by the rave reviews on Amazon.com into buying this one for my son's third birthday. I am so glad that I did!!! My 3 year-old as well as my 18 month-old love this CD! All I have to say is, "Do you guys want to listen to Choo Choo Boogaloo?" and they are already dancing with excitement! I really enjoy the CD as well. The music is wonderful--different styles, rhythms, etc. I never get that, "this whole CD sounds the same" feeling. My favorite song is the first one, "Choo Choo Boogaloo"; it starts out fairly slow and gets faster and faster, get like a train starting down the track!!"
Outstanding

"Not only do my 1 and 4 year old children enjoy this album, so do I. Great to listen too - you even catch yourself singing to almost every song. There should be more children's music like this."
This is music you and your little one will both love!

"Our 18 month old son is absolutely crazy for "Choo Choo" music. Everytime we are in the car he requests the CD and actually sings along, waving his arms and kicking his legs. He has also begun to request that I sing "Choo-Choo" music when we go on walks or when I rock him to sleep. The good news is that it is excellent music that my husband and I really enjoy as well. It is great in the way it introduces several different instruments and styles of music. And if a 1 1/2 year old doesn't mind a long drive in the car because he can listen to his beloved "Choo Choo" music - all the better. I highly recommend it - you'll love it too."

"It is not more than 5 minutes from when I return from work that my 2 1/2 year old daughter wants to dance with me to "Choo Choo Booballoo." She might not be able to say th name right, but she certainly can't get enough of this wonderful and fun CD. Winston, Buckwheat and the gang have made the most out of great Cajun style to make listening a treat (over and over and over...). One can read many reviews that state "We can listen in the car and even the adults don't get bored.." Well, it is certainly true for this CD. There is not one song that disappoints, and it even teachs some nice musical education about Cajun music and different instruments. This is a CD that works for ALL ages and keeps the toes tapping! I originally bought from list as a top seller in 1999--it lives up to it's recommendations."
My son started dancing immediately to this music!

"My two-year-old son Tommy just loves this album. I bought it because he's recently become enamored of "I've Been Workin' on the Railroad", and I remembered reading all the rave reviews of this CD here. He loves it! At first he only wanted to listen to "Railroad" over and over, but he's branched out and enjoys the other songs, too. Since I have to listen to this repeatedly all day, I'm glad the music is so interesting and that the vocals are not squeaky/chipmunky like some kids' music. My favorite tunes on the CD are "Skip to My Blues" and "They All Asked For You". This is a pretty upbeat CD -- don't count on it for lullabies, but do expect some dancing and singing!!"
