"When I was growing up, Buddy Holly was more to me than just a rock and roll legend. He was an inspiration, a creative influence, an advisor, and a friend. Whenever I felt lonely or sad, all I had to do was put on one of his songs, and just his voice and words were enough to bring a smile to my face and dry away my tears. I was ten years old when I first discovered Buddy's music, and it has remained a part of my life ever since. Now seventeen, I have learned to appreciate Buddy's music even more through the discovery of Nanci Griffith, the Dixie Chicks, the Beatles, and other artists who were greatly influenced by him. I was also thrilled to discover that this collection of his music had been released on CD. The songs have been digitally remastered, and these classic moments in rock history sound better than ever before. All of the songs that made Buddy famous can be found here--from his first #1 hit with the Crickets, "That'll Be The Day," to an overdubbed version of "Peggy Sue Got Married," the sequel to his 1957 hit recorded in his apartment just two months before his death. As a longtime fan, I was thrilled to find several songs on this collection that I have only previously owned on LP or cassette, and haven't heard in three years or more. Another one of this album's finest moments is a rare interview with Buddy and drummer Jerry Allison recorded in 1957, just months after the band's breakthrough hit.THE ULTIMATE EP COLLECTION definitely lives up to its name. It includes all the essential Buddy recordings, as well as a few seldon heard gems. This 2-CD set is a must for any diehard Buddy Holly fan, and anyone who loves the music of the early rock era will not be disappointed. Buddy's music can be enjoyed by anyone both young and old--I, a teenage fan of rock and roll am walking proof of that!"

"I bought this CD straight from See For Miles', since it is not available here. This CD has an awesome sound quality that has the echoes and nuances that take you back in time. The box alone is worth the money. It looks like book, and contains a very nice glossy pages with interesting photos, and a little "Buddy Holly Story" that tells about him and his music history. I also have the Buddy Holly Collection, which I love, but this EP Collection is even more special. This is a must-have for anyone and everyone who listens to music, and definately an essential in a classic rock and roll music collection. If you are a Buddy fan already, I think this will end up being your favorite.
I think this would also make an appropriate gift for a young person who is starting to buy rock and pop music. Start them off right! My son is nine, and he loves it. It's clean and it rocks. It has also broadened his appreciation for other genres.
This is a great CD collection, with high quality and authentic sound. If you can not decide which Buddy Holly CD to get, get this one first. I think you will be very glad you did. Hope this helped. KM
BY THE WAY..I noticed someone trying to sell a used one for a way outrageous price. Get on See for Miles' web site, I think I paid around 40 for it."

"I have been trying to find this album for so long. I bought three of Buddy Holly's CD's and they all had the overdubs in them by the picks. I tell you finding this was my best day ever.
I hope that anyone who bought the CD's with the picks in it please sell it or burn it, that's what I am going to do."
