Synopsis

Album Description
Digi-pak pressing. Fourth album from Belgian producer Dirk Swartenbroeckx (AKA Buscemi). His style is deep and often difficult to categorize: Nu Bossa, Nu Lounge, House Music, Brazilian Grooves, Afrobeat, Drum 'n Bass... Dance music with a Latin feel is maybe the best description of the sound of Buscemi. There are some lovely bossa moments on Retro Nuevo, but so much more. Dutch singer Fay Lovsky contributed her words and vocals to the charming 'Nao falo portugu?s'. Viviani Godoy conquered the broken beats of the pleasing 'Isolada do Mundo'. African singer Alexia Waku laid the funky 'Jumilla'. Dag Taeldeman (A Brand) brought the chemistry of 'Medusa'. Even the great Isabelle Antena returns with another superb performance on the lovely and chilled 'Nothing to worry about'. The album was preceded by the storming Electro Jazz-Club single 'Jazz Jumper', that got excellent response from DJ's worldwide. EMI. 2007.

CD Reviews

'Another masterpiece' (would be redundant)

(5 out of 5 stars)

"As usual, This gentleman delivers the beats, vocals, syths and the bass like a drink at sunset. It takes you away from your day to day, it creates an alternative world. So lush in places, so house in others. Take this to the beach and blast it, put the headphones on and take the long way. Either way this new thing satisphies like all his other works. Where is the American Buscemi? (insert joke)The future of music is the very cultural collage Buscemi delivers with ease. Perhaps in 20 years the world will recognise a genius like this, do yourself a favor and pick this up now. Spring is right around the corner and summer a few miles away. I can't think of anything else except perhaps Sven Van Hees that I want on my speakers....(Dj4cast)"
