CD Reviews

A truly moving recording
Armin Helisch | Enfield, NH, USA | 05/20/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The sound on these 4 CDs is quite amazing, if you consider that these mono recordings were made in the 1930s and 40s. The music is just unbelievably beautiful and it is played with complete devotion. These Beethoven Quartet recordings may easily become companions for the rest of your life. A true milestone in the history of recorded music!"
A lavish musical treasure!

"This historical ensemble signed its name with golden letteres in the immortal memory 's museum. There are many reasons to argue, but basically I should notice the admirable sense of musicality, kindness and approach given for Adolf Busch, whose true relevance and transcdnece has not achived its deserved status.

Besides, we have to Rudolf Serkin in his late twenties, a notable talent in progress in those times whose contribution and reward allowed to establish a gratifying feedback in what enhancement and musicality concerns.

Once you have listened the first bars of those wonderful musicians, you will be intstaneously engaged. I give you my word. So, do not doubt just for a second and go for this diamantine recordings, which are now part of the legend."
