Product DescriptionBuzz Cason and The Dartz were originally formed as a tribute to the Elvis rockabilly style of music initially made popular by Sun recording artists such as Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash and a handful of other singers mainly from the mid-south states of the U.S. After forming The Casuals, which became Brenda Lee s backing group and then producing and performing with The Crickets, Buzz worked with Leon Russell and James Burton in the studio to create many of the Surf and Hot Rod groups on Liberty Records. They would produce a track and if it was a hit, find a bar band and send them out on the road under that name. Buzz is also a prolific writer and has written many hits that have been covered by artists as diverse as U2, Pearl Jam and The Beatles. He also wrote Everlasting Love which has been covered by many artists, both in the U.S. and the UK, as well as writing hits for the surf duo of Jan and Dean. As a producer he has produced hits with Bobby Vee, Buddy Nox and The Crickets. He also discovered Jimmy Buffett and produced his first two albums.
