CD Reviews

Excellent Cd, Buy It, Tru 4 Life
James R. Wright | Oklahoma City, OK United States | 07/14/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Even though I am a proud and certified diehard No Limit fan. I am not a fanatical fool that buys all their albums and think every song they make is great. Whenever I buy their new cds I listen to it with a open-minded and objective point of view. If the cd they make sucks I will say it sucks, but this cd is a great one. It is sad in the music industry today that the majority of artist(Especially the popular mainstream ones you see on tv) release terrible cds with one or two decent songs on their albums. To me this action and the foolish lyrical content of most music artist(Especially Hip-hop) proves that they don't really care about their fans. I have followed C-murder's career very closely. His 1st cd Life Or Death was flawless, his second cd Bossalinie was also flawless. His 3rd cd Trapped in Crime was a extremely great cd. I can't lie the two cds he made after those, C-P-3.com and Tru Dawgs were pretty terrible. The truest S** I ever wrote was above average(you had to be a real tru fasn to appreciate it) In 2008 when he came out with Screamin 4 Vengeance I ran out and bought it. Now that album is a masterpiece. You can tell he put his heart into it. The album was made while he was going through his terrible legal troubles, you can see how it made him into a artist that had a hunger to make a phenomenal cd. The same thing happen with T.I."s Paper Trail cd. Calio click and Community service are pretty good albums. C-murder is one of the few Hip-hop artist to put out consistent good quality music that sounds good and contains in the lyrical content game and words of wisdom. C-murder by himself is keeping the Tru movement going. That is a testament to his talent and gifts. It is amazing to me and shows what kind of unique person he is by listening to this album you would never think that he is locked up in prison for a crime that I hope and really don't think he did. The other reviewer is right about him trying to immitate 2Pac's style a little bit, but the thing good about him that seperates the other artist that copy 2pac's style is that he has the decency to admit that he does idolize & copy his style a little bit, unlike the other big name rappers that sometimes say they idolize 2Pac, but usually don't give him credit when they make their voice sound like 2pac, dress like he did or copy his lyrics. Tru's biggest selling old cd "West Coast Bad Boyz 2" was even dedicated to Tupac "Makaveli" Shakur. On C-murder's 2nd cd, "Bossalinie," there is a song called "On My Enemies." This song is originally a 2pac song that c-murder sampled, copied, or did a remake(whatever you want to call it). At the beginning and the end of the song C-murder pays a vocal tribute to 2pac. Most people don't even know that Master P and C-murder were roadies for 2pac, so it makes sense that they would be influenced by 2Pac's Style and even copy it. If you look at The No Limit dynasty they kept 2pac's style and movement going after 2pac was murdered which was a good thing that produced some real tight music. It makes perfect sense for the majority of Hip-hop artist to want to be like him since he was, still is, and will forever be the best hip-hop artist that ever existed. So for the other reviewer to say what they said, it is clearly obvious that they are talking about something that they don't know about. To anyone that likes tight trunk rattling bangin beats, music with a message, and music that is entertaining & funny I would definetly recommend buying this cd. Tru for Life! Free Cory!"
