Two years ago, a group of friends, who were also musicians, got together regularly on weekends to bar-b-que and have fun. As a result of friendship and musicianship Derepente was born. They still get together on weekends, but now its usually to entertain a packed house at South Texas conjunto venues. Each musician brings his own unique quality to the stage. As one listens to their raucous rancheras, rhythmic cumbias and romantic boleros, its obvious why this group stays busy on the conjunto circuit.
This CD, Como Paloma, is the groups debut CD. Notable songs on this release include Acaba Con Mi Corazón, Fue Mentiras, Sabiendo Que Era Yo, Derepente and Como Paloma.
