"Luiz Eca & Astor "Cada Qual Melhor!" (Odeon, 1961)
This is an early album by Brazilian jazz pianist Luiz Eca, later a founding member of the highly-regarded Tamba Trio. Here, he is paired up with trombonist and bandleader Astor Silva, in a set that reflects the vibe of Brazilian nightclubs in the 1950s and early '60s -- there are some Brazilian oldies as well as jazzed-up versions of North American standards. If you're a big fan of the Tamba Trio, you might want to check this out to see what the scene Eca came out from was like. (DJ Joe Sixpack, Slipcue Brazilian Music Guide)"
