One of Caetano's finest, indeed one of MPB's finest albums.

"Only slightly experimental and rather commercial by Caetano's standard, the lyrics are fascinating and engrossing, while the arrangements are simple and lovely. Every track is enchanting, and my personal favorites are Cavaleiro de Jorge and the cover of Djavan's Sina. The Africaness of Caetano's Bahia is evident, as are reggae influences. Buy this and Cinema Transendental FIRST if you're new to Caetano."
God's own muse!

"Cores Nomes reveals Caetano at his bittersweet best. He is poet, songwriter, singer and mime. Check out his substitution of "Djavaniar" for the original "Caetaniar" on Sina. These guys are so cool on so many levels...This is the world's most sophisticated and timeless pop music. Caetano is easily the equal of Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and any other creative genius of the late 20th - early 21st century. Revel in the beauty of Caetano's art!"
