"I had not heard of this excellent European group before hearing them perform Charles Avison's transcriptions of Domenico Scarlatti keyboard pieces for strings Charles Avison: Concertos in Seven Parts from the Lessons of Domenico Scarlatti on Otto's Baroque Musik (FM.1 on the iTunes radio stations).

This particular volume includes:

1. The Concerto for Harpsichord & Strings BMW 1052

2. The Concerto for Harpsichord & Strings BMW 1055

3. The Concerto for Violin, Strings & Continuo BMW 1042

4. The Brandenburg Concerto #5 BMW 1050

The playing is lively, nuanced and well balanced - completely on a par with Hogwood and Pinnock. Highly recommended.
