"Recipe for this album:

Take one scantily clad 60s French sex kitten out of a pillow fight, and drop her into a Spaghetti Western. Blend in kitschy lounge numbers, ample western guitar, several gunshots, liberal theatrical dialogue, creepy theremin, tinkling piano, secret agent big brass, handclaps, cheeky oboe, and several shots of whiskey neat. Add in jungle sounds and saloon brawls to taste. Yields many happy repeat listens.

Call Me Poupée, a duo from Montreal, have mixed up modern music into an all-out Old West burlesque spectacle. "Western Shanghaï" does not sound like anything else, in all the best ways possible. Fantastique."
