"Zeffirelli's "Callas Forever" is an intimate portrait of the final years of the world's greatest soprano with an interesting twist. Maria is coaxed out of her retirement to act in operamovies (Being dubbed with her old recordings). She even finishes an entire movie (Carmen) before she realizes that this is against all her principles and resists further offers plus she asks for the Carmen-Film to be destroyed. So how is this soundtrack? It's a lovely mix of arias from Madama Butterfly and Carmen (of course) plus some very new music. Bittersweet and haunting it's a recording I wouldn't want to be without."
Forever Indeed!!

"An incredible talent!! People think of Madame Callas as just an opera singer. WRONG!! She was an incredible actress who could sing! I think she blew the audience away because she didn't just come out on stage, hit her mark and drop her jaw! Such as Joan Sutherland. Callas could actually get into the role and portray the character.
There are a very few that deserve the title "Diva" or "Superstar", both far overused these days; Garland, Callas. You can always tell a superstar talent; you only need one name to identify them. Callas definitely was and will remain one among this rare breed.
It will be 100 years before another voice will show with which to compare the talent of Maria Callas."
Very good soundtrack

"The movie Callas Forever is a good one, although not a biography.
Its music is also of high quality, and this CD bring it to us
in Callas' voice, at her prime, and instrumental themes composed
for the movie, very enjoyable to hear."
