Synopsis

Product Description
One of the key members of the "djent metal" community are back!. Canvas Solaris create instrumental technical metal with strong influences of progressive rock. Their core sound focuses on intricate twin guitar interplay, frenetic polyrhythms, and space filled keyboards. The band adeptly juxtaposes crushing metal riffs with quiet acoustic interludes. Produced by Jamie King (Between The Buried And Me) and mastered by Alan Douches (Killswitch Engaged). The digipak features mind bending artwork courtesy of noted lowbrow artist Mars-1. RIYL Animals As Leaders, Scale The Summit, and Periphery.

CD Reviews

Brilliant work of technical metal
Bodhi Heeren | Copenhagen | 08/13/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is the bands 5th album and in my ears no doubt their best effort yet.Although there is still plenty of gloomy and highly 'abstract' passages, overall the music is a lot more melodic and accesible, from time to time bringing some one like Jeff Beck to memory.

Highly accomplished instrumental metal, but as always also delving into more new age and world music territory. And a true group effort with keys and not least the bass being a lot more prominent than on their previous releases.

For fans of progressive and advanced metal in the vein of Spiral Architect, Cynic or La Otracina. But for older folks like myself also reminiscent of King Crimson and not least Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Visionary and brimming with great musicianship and unorthodox musical ideas.
