CD Reviews

BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT!

"This is their third album, and even better than the previous releases. Cappella is an Italian band created by master-mind Gianfanco Bortolotti, and backed with several Dj's and production teams. This CD features Allison on vocals, and Rodney on raps. This cd is a must have. It includes the smash-hits "Tell Me the Way", "I Need Your Love", "Back In Your Life", "Turn It Up And Down", and also two other hard to find singles. But that's not all. This cd will keep the party going from the first beat to the last. We're talkin soulful music here. Every note is just right, so it's ok if you feel the urge to sing. A must have for all the party people and DJs!"
Good club music album

"Cappella is the best italo-dance music group ever. Listen to their flawless album "U got to know" (which i strongly recommend and i also reviewed by the way if interested) to understand why. Their following album "War in heaven" is once again a great album, but this time not flawless: it contains some bad songs, some fillers, which are very bad("Music and Harmony", "Stay with me") and very very boring("Another you").
BUT except those 3 tracks, this album is worth buying for the European smash hits "Tell me the way", "I need your love" and the upbeat "Turn it up and down", the terrific club hit "Back in your life"(which is my favourite track of the album), as well as some other unknown tracks as "Do u run away now", the happy hardcore "War in heaven" and the energetic "U took my heart"(my second favourite).
This album also contains the first house club hit of the group "Helyom halib"(not a Hi-NRG track) and a megamix(a big Hi-NRG track) of their biggest smash hits from the album "U got 2 know" to have a first taste of what u are missing if u still do not have it.
"War in heaven" is a good album with some terrific tracks that u should have, especially if you are into Hi-NRG music."
Surprisingly mediocre

"One of Cappella's previous albums, "Helyom Halib" is a very good collection of high energy House music."War in Heaven", however, is an uneven and, ultimately, very disappointing collection. There are far more female vocals, mostly delivered in a raucous, American-style style which grates on one's listening very quickly indeed. My fellow reviewer's comments strike me as rather surprising. "Tell me the way" is, admittedly, very fast and exhilarating, largely because the bass and drums dominate and the vocalist has to do comparatively little; however, "I Need your Love" is dreary and uninspiring and she fundamentally shouts her way through the song (imagine Black Box without the novel drumbeats!); "Back in Your Life" is even slower and drearier and I thought for 30 dreadful seconds she was going to attempt a ballad. Oh, and there's a rapper as well: and what a clown he is. I really dread to think what the "two other hard to find singles" are.The title track is actually a microcosm of the strengths and weaknesses of this album. Despite some deft and well-appreciated changes of pace in the middle, it starts with the vocalist whining at her best, and then delivers the coup de grace with some hilariously inane rapping. The producer and songwriter clearly had some ambitious goals for this album. They are only realised once, on "Turn it Up and Down" when the vocalist displays rare control and delicacy, and even the rapper seems mechanised in time and immersed in the flowing music. Perhaps buy it for that track alone, but don't expect an encore."
