"This recording of April 2003, having essentially the same personnel as Carol Sloane's previous album "I Never Went Away," this time around gets things exactly right, from the Cover Art to the sound engineering.
" My One And Only Love", a song of rapture and yearning, is here presented with no accompaniment whatsoever for the first few bars --a daring approach that could only ever succeed with someone of the calibre of Carol Sloane; Bill Bollenback's guitar comes in where least expected. It's all an object lesson in subtlety and grace. In a similar vein we are given Easy to Remember, another model of intimacy. Once again, the weakest numbers seem to be those with solo piano as "support" (The Dreams On Me, Memories of You) and Miss Sloane's praise of this pianist in the liner notes is cause for bewilderment."
