"This record has some soulful, wonderful singing & playing.
The other reviewer said among other things that her voice was tiny,it may not be a big voice, but its VERY expressive and unique.
And even though this is technically a jazz album, her vocalizing on songs like Noneday,Home and Whisper Not have more soul than the likes of Beyonce, or Joss Stone or Mariah Carey.
In addition,both Jazztimes & Jazziz magazines,LOVED IT!!!!

"All Carolyn Leonhart needs is a marketer that can let the world know what those of us who have this and Steal the Moon already have discovered. If you love real jazz, the way it was intended, if there ever was a plan in the first place, this work is exactly what you crave."
An excellent bargain buy

"I write with an in-between view (relative to the two previously-posted reviews) of this c.d.
Technically, this is a fine album. I have no major criticisms. I also have no major raves.
Carolyn Leonhart's voice is fine. I don't agree with the idea that hers is no different than your run-of-the-mill lounge singer. I do agree that she doesn't have the lightness of Tierney Sutton or Jane Monheit, the smokiness of Cassandra Wilson or Diana Krall, the purity of Lizz Wright or Luciana Souza, or the richness of Janis Siegel or Jackie Ryan. But it's fine.
These arrangements are well done. "New 8th Day" is a very good original with a nice idea (a day of the week where we can all just be one). "Photograph" is one of the most romantic of modern day standards--kudos to Ms. Leonhart for entering it into the mix. "Moon River" has a nice extension to it, and makes a good set-ender.
You may not want to pay $12 or more for this. But if you can pick it up for $4-5, you won't go wrong. RC"
