"There are newer remeastered versions of this anthology out which have better sound quality."
A+...nothing like that voice

"No matter how many Streisands and Dions we get, there has never been a voice or a way of interpreting a song like Karen Carpenter. Last, but defintely not least, is Richard's wonderful arrangements and musicality. This duo was the best of all time, in my opinion. Sadly missed. I wish that Richard would grace us with more music."
You can do better

"I am amazed that this particular title is still in print. The CLASSICS VOL. 2 collection was part of A&M Records' 25th Anniversary celebration and just months before, Richard had released the YESTERDAY ONCE MORE 2-disc set. Seeing no need to reformulate yet another set for the celebration, Richard & A&M simply re-titled and repackaged the YESTERDAY ONCE MORE set under this new title.Since then YESTERDAY ONCE MORE, which featured remixes of the classic tunes, has been re-mastered and re-issued again with an additional tune and slightly different order. As a result, you can get this same package in a better format for about the same money. As I said, although in its day this was a great package, you can do better. I'm amazed that it's still out there."
The definitive Carpenters collection

"The Carpenters were a staple in pop music in the 1970's. These classic tracks, such as Sing, Yesterday Once More, Superstar, and We've Only Just Begun are pure pop gems. The musical arrangements are perfectly crafted, and complimented so well by Karen's beautiful lush alto voice. These songs endure very well. Highlights on the album include the hits previously mentioned; For all we know (it has been played at many a wedding); and Goodbye to Love (the guitar solo at the end really jams!). There are very few weak spots (among them their interpretation of "This Masquerade"). Just light the candles, pour the wine, put on the CD, and you are in for one romantic night. It is just unfortunate that the Carpenters don't receive the airplay any more that they deserve."
I would recommend it to anyone.

"It's a nice c.d. which I enjoyed playing. Karen's voice is pure and innocent."
