An old favorite

"I first heard this album as an LP in the 1950's. I played it so many times, it made me long to go to Spain, and I did in the early 1980's. For a long time this Michel Legrand recording was not available on CD. He did a series of albums that reflected the music of a particular country: I Love Paris, and Holiday in Rome. I had all three LP's then and hope to have all three CD's now. I just never tire of these Legrand recordings and hearing the background sounds peculiar to a country.Just makes it easier to recall my visits to Rome, Paris and Seville."

"
IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, THIS IS THE ALBUM THAT BETTER REMEMBER FROM LEGRAND. MY FATHER BUYED THE LP WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER AND I WERE FASCINATED WITH IT. I STILL HAVE THE OLD LP AND IWAS VERY HAPPY WHEN I FIND IT WITH YOU IN CD.
I'M 64 YEARS OLD AND A FAN OF THE INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC AND BALLADS OF THE LATE 50'S AND 60'S.

"I had searched for this album in CD form for years having worn out the black vinyl. Finally it showed up, having been just re-issued in 2007. On first playing, I was a little disappointed with the clipped fidelity, but after all, it was originally recorded in 1956.
After that original playing, I found myself listening to it over and over. This unique orchestration could be played in the concert hall as a continuous piece. You are transported from the dance hall, to the bullfights, to the "Castles in Spain". Not to be missed!!!"
