CD ReviewsCAT THE GREAT Allan | Melbourne, Australia | 10/30/2008 (3 out of 5 stars) "Cat Anderson is was one of the best trumpet players ever. This album highlights his playing is a small band session recorded in France in his later years. To here Cat at his best listen to Duke Ellington live with him screaming in the trumpet section. To me this is not one of his best albums, he seems to sound tired and over playing at times. He is very limited on the high notes but is solos are meaningful and musical. If you want everything that Cat ever recorded, get this album. If you want his best ever album get "Cat on a Hot Tin Horn". If you want an interesting with him find an album that he is featured on by Quincy Jones called "Aint got It Bad". Cat is one of my favorite high note trumpet players of all time." Unbelievable Derek S. Burks | 08/26/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "Cat Anderson is without a doubt one of the best trumpet players ever known. This album will prove that. It is the best jazz album I have ever listened to and I highly recommend this album."
