"I was fortunate enough to be present at the wonderful performance of the Cedar Walton Trio at the Montreal Bistro in Toronto 2 weeks ago. It was there that I purchased this album. What struck me a lot about his performance was his classiness and calmness. Some jazz pianists I have seen leap about in their seats like they've got ants in their pants, and grunt and groan to the music, or make the strangest faces imaginable. Not that there's anything wrong with any of that...it all adds to the excitement and it's great to see a musician really get deep into the music. With Cedar...oh he is definately deep into the music, but he exudes a peaceful aura, no theatrics or excesses...just beautiful music played with style. He is one the true greats, and it was wonderful to see him and this album is a terrific souvenir that will bring back pleasant memories for years and years to come. This album features, along with Cedar of course, on piano, VINCENT HERRING on alto sax and flute; DAVID WILLIAMS on bass, and KENNY WASHINGTON on drums. I have listened to this album repeatedly since, and it has joined my rank of favourites. I recommend it highly to any jazz lover."
