"Celi Bee was one of the most played singers at the disco scene of the middle 70's even though she did not reached mainstream status as, lets say, a Gloria Gaynor or a Vickie Sue Robinson. One of her best hits was "Macho(A Real,Real One)" which is the opening song for ALTERNATING CURRENTS. Sadly, the rest of the album lacks another smash like this one, nor any memorable song that could support the worthyness of this production. Even though "Disposable Love" is nice, it doesn't reach the level of importance of "Macho". Does this album stands on its own as a relic of the disco era and a good sample of Celi Bee's importance in the disco dancing period? Yes and No. "Macho" is essential for any collection, but you can always get "The Best Of Celi Bee: For The Love Of My Man" which not only has this song, but her greatest hit "Superman" along with "One Love" and "Fly Me On The Wings Of Love" [ and a buzzy bunch of other great Celi Bee songs ]. If you are a true Celi Bee fan, ALTERNATING CURRENTS is for you. But if you are not a fan, or just simply uninitiated on this disco diva, get her "Best Of" album."
