"As the proud owner of way too many recordings of both the duo and the solo cello sonata, I'm prepared to say these are my favorites. They are live, by the way, so the sound quality is not the greatest, but the performances are so amazing here, that I for one forget about sound quality when I'm listening to this. The other three smaller pieces are well-played by Miklos Perenyi, the Czech String Trio, and Igor Gavrish. I recommend this recording of these pieces above all others (although there are plenty of other great performances of these pieces.) If you can find this, GET IT. You won't be disappointed. I think it might be fairly hard to come across, though."

"This album contains Kodaly's solo cello suite recorded live performance. Fournier might be young like Yo-yo Ma when he performed this piece. I like all three movements but the third allegro molto vivace is just amazing. So sad that I can not watch his playing. I always listen to this music when I have bad day or cannot fall asleep. Although the music is very sophisticated and complicated mind, it just soothes my mind. Well, I do not think that I need to talk about Fournier's articulation, phrasing or emotion in his playing. Other pieces of music in this CD are also very romantic."
